| | | | Forthcoming Titles Lists | | Performing Arts & Mass Media: Forthcoming Titles, 2011. Choice, v.48, no. 11, July 2011. |
As with others in Choice’s popular forthcoming series, this list of selected performing arts and mass media titles is designed to provide information about new and soon-to-be-released publications that support academic curricula, particularly at the undergraduate level. The titles included here are scheduled for publication from July 2011 into 2012. We selected some 250 titles, based on their potential relevance for academic library collections.
The feature is organized in two major sections. The performing arts section has a general listing followed by subheadings for acting and auditioning, biographical works, dance, film, music (divided into several categories), theater (and dramatic works), and reference resources. The mass media section includes a general section and six subsections: animation, international, journalism, new media, television and radio, and reference.
Some two dozen publishers responded to our invitation to contribute information about their new and forthcoming titles. In addition, editors checked publisher catalogs and prepublication announcements for appropriate titles. The bibliographic information comes directly from the publishers; data include anticipated release date, price, and ISBN (estimates are followed by “e”). Like all lists of this type, release dates, prices, and even titles of works are subject to change. Please check with the publisher or your bookseller for the latest information.
Choice extends special thanks to the publishers who supplied information about their titles for this feature. A list of publishers whose works are included appears at the end of this feature, complete with URLs.
